About Me

I’m a Mommy, wife, daughter, Auntie, friend.  I love spending time with my family and friends.  I have been married to Joe, the most wonderful man in the world for 13 years, and we have a son who is 7.  He is an absolute joy and has filled our lives up to the brim and over with love and happiness.

I am a proud daughter to two amazing parents that have supported me throughout my whole life and are always there for me, when I need them, and also when I don’t know that I need them.  They are wonderful grandparents to our son.  He adores them and the feeling is mutual.

I am a proud Auntie to 5 nieces and 2 nephews – both from my side of the family and from the extended family that I have been lucky enough to acquire since marrying Joe.

I am blessed to say that I have many, many good friends.  Some that I have had since childhood, from high school, and some that Joe and I have met since we were married.  We cherish all our friends as they are like family that we have chosen, and we’re fortunate that they have chosen us as well.

My passions, aside from family and friends include reading, writing, spending time in the kitchen cooking, baking and creating.  I have been an avid reader since I was old enough to hold up a book, and often could be found with an Archie comic in my hands, on which I learned to read.  I grew up in a rural community as an only child – my only other sibling being a half sibling and we didn’t grow up together.  I could either spend my time listening to the adults chat or read – so my nose was usually buried in a book.  I have carried that passion into adulthood, reading usually on a daily basis if time permits.  I endorse any program that is focused on literacy for children or adults, and read to my son daily to encourage a love of reading in him as well.

As well as my office where all my books are, my favourite room in my house is the kitchen.  I love to cook, creating new recipes, perfecting old ones, trying ones written by the great chefs of our time enjoying their genius and trying to find ways to make them my own.  I also love to bake, creating sweet treats to share with friends and family.  Nothing is more satisfying than creating something in the kitchen and being able to share it with friends and family, and seeing their enjoyment.

I love all kinds of gadgets, and constantly covet those that own cooler ones than me.  I am addicted to cell phones – and now smartphones, and have owned more than I can possibly count in my lifetime.  I am in a state of constant envy over the latest iPad/Macbook, etc.

I like social networking, am amazed by all the cool people out there that are literally just a tweet away.  This huge world of ours has grown so small due to social media, and it’s so cool that I can go online and read about what celebrities are doing and saying, as well as all the “Twitter Celebrities” – those awesome people that are out there tweeting great content and allowing me to learn stuff that I never would have if it weren’t for Twitter.  I enjoy spending time on Facebook as well, primarily using it as a tool to keep in touch with family and friends and people that I went to high school with.  I use it to post pictures of my family and let people know what is going on in my life.

I hope you enjoy my ramblings, if you’ve got something to say, or ask, please feel free to leave a comment, or contact me at culinarygoddessblog at gmail dot com.
